Replies - part 2

Auto update reminders - there should be some way to do it but unfortunately I can't see the blog page myself... Any ideas to offer, Richie? Sandra - sand in the desert?: luckily there hasn't been tonnes of plain sand walking, but even in the chapparel (brushy kind of semi-desert) the trail is mostly sand and loose rock - all stuff the perect size for bouncing into your shoes as soon as you clean the out for the _000th time.... Also worth noting is that everything in the desert/chapparel is either scratchy, pokey, cutty and/or bitey. I have little scabs on my head because everytime I'm near a Joshua Tree (giant spikey bitey scratchy ouchy Yucca 'trees') I usually find a way to run my head into it. I don' t know how... even I surprise myself sometimes. Next up - Sarah and eating training: Yes, The eating training pre-hike has definitely paid off... The five pounds I gained seems to be getting along well with the new weight I seem to be gaining... I'm pretty good at eating it seems.

  1. I'm not sure about email reminders but Firefox Live Bookmarks or Google Reader can be used to easily/automatically track updates to multiple blogs/feeds without having to go to site. I think most new broswers have ways to subscribe to blogs these days. I subscribed to this blog using Firefox by clicking on the 'Subscribe to Posts (Atom)' link near the bottom the blog's main page.

It sounds like you're having a great adventure. It's awesome to be able to follow you this way. I find some of the Joshua Trees to be pretty creepy looking, especially at night... like they're some sort of sci-fi creature or something. Maybe they're jumping out at you when your head is down ;).
